Allured Fund for Confectionery Education


The Allured Fund for Confectionery Education provides grants to those
people who would like to attend an educational event in the U.S.
confectionery industry, but are unable to attend due to financial hardships.
The fund was created in the memory of three individuals that each
dedicated their lives to the continued success and growth of the
confectionery industry. Allen Allured and his parents, Prudence & Earl
Allured, felt that strong education programs, widely available, help to ensure
a vibrant and everlasting industry.

The lack of formal confectionery training opportunities at educational
institutions in the United States has meant that confectioners must provide
their own training to their own staff and their colleagues. The success of one
candy maker satisfying one customer has always had the impact of
improving all candymakers. The Allured family has fostered this approach
through their own publications and by their involvement and support of all
industry organizations for 3 generations.  

Grants of $250 will be awarded to attend an educational function sponsored
by the American Association of Candy Technologists (AACT), the PMCA,
the Retail Confectioners International (RCI), the National Confectioners
Association (NCA) or the Fine Chocolate Industry Association (FCIA).
Grants are open to any individual residing in the USA. Grants can not be
awarded to any family member that is supported financially by the Allured
family or the board members of the Confectionery Foundation or the Allured
Fund Committee.
